One last motorbike ride

Riders help another rider

Meet one of our residents, Pete, who acquired a traumatic brain injury in 2013. Then in 2017 Pete was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND).

Pete had been hopeful that one day he would be able to ride a motorbike again and no longer have to rely on a wheelchair. However Pete's specialists gave him the bad news that the MND was progressing and to expect further deterioration. Pete lost all hope and motivation and went through a rough patch.

One of our recreational therapists was successful in applying for a grant from our Foundation so that Pete could go for a trike ride. One of our oldest and most generous donors, the Ducati Owners Club NSW, put our rec therapist in contact with Barry Roberts, from Just Looking Trike Tours, who understood Pete's needs.

Thanks to all our donors, Pete's Christmas wish came true!
