Donations to our White Knight Fund paid for a private psychiatrist consultation for a rural victim of crime.
This client was in dire need to consult a psychiatrist due to ongoing mental health difficulties linked to her history of trauma and abuse. They had sustained multiple head injuries due to childhood trauma, domestic violence and a motor vehicle accident resulting in a traumatic brain injury (TBI). These injuries had cumulative impacts on the client's cognitive and psychological wellbeing. In addition to this, the client was displaced following catastrophic floods, suffering financial hardship and her local public mental health programmes were limited to clients with immediate and high risk of harm.
