One of our Brain Injury Unit occupational therapists was successful in his application to our White Knight Fund for the purchase of a breathable helmet on behalf of one his patients. Unfortunately this patient came to our Brain Injury Unit with a traumatic brain injury as a result of being a victim of crime.
A breathable helmet was required for this patient to wear until her cranioplasty, which could not happen for several months.
The patient was awaiting the outcome of applications for victim service payments, NDIS funding and a Disability Support Pension and our foundation was fortunately able to support in the interim.
