Driver Assessment & Training Service
Returning to driving or learning to drive with a disability requires specialist support. Our Driver Assessment and Training Service at Royal Rehab Ryde works in partnership with people to improve driver safety and their independence. This program is delivered by occupational therapists and driving instructors with vast experience in assessing people with all types of disability and medical concerns. The cost of a driving assessment can be prohibitive to those who cannot obtain funding via other means.
A driving assessment consists of a:
- medical check
- 1.5 hour off-road assessment
- one hour on-road assessment
- feedback report with recommendations.
Subsequent driving lessons are then suggested and if appropriate.
