$100

Lunch with friends

Our Breakthru clients live in Victoria and all the way up to Queensland, so having one big end of year party is just not practical. Your $100 gift will purchase enough food for an end of year morning tea or barbecue for a group of our Breakthru clients, taking the pressure off their already stretched purse strings and a chance to connect with each other in a festive way.

Awards night

Many of our rural Breakthru clients live far from others, but once a year, they come together for a very special night at their local bowling club—an awards celebration bringing up to 80 people together. With your $500 gift, you’ll help make this cherished night happen—where friendships form, achievements are celebrated, and a night out in their to remember!

Matched Giving Partner

This is a rare opportunity for your business to be spotlighted by Royal Rehab from now up until Christmas Day by agreeing to be this appeal's Matched Giving Partner.

Here’s how it works:
When a donor gives $10, your business matches it with another $10. Instantly, that one gift becomes $20—doubling the impact and spreading twice the joy. You can place a cap on the amount of donations you would like matched.

As our Matched Giving Partner, you’ll enjoy:

🎁 Tax benefits: Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
🌟 Brand exposure: Your company logo and short bio will be shared with our audience of 30,000+ people.
💖 Social responsibility: Showcase your commitment to community wellbeing and strengthen goodwill among your customers, employees, and partners.
🎅 Engagement and fulfilment: See your matched donations in real time and know you’re making a difference this Christmas.

You can make this Christmas twice as good!

Meet Bella

When you meet Bella, you instantly notice her bright smile and the warmth she brings to every room. But behind that smile is a story of quiet courage and unshakable spirit.

Bella has been part of the Breakthru family since 2007. Every week, she looks forward to her Fridays at one of the Breakthru Community's centres, where she does singing in the morning and then goes with her friends Geoff, Therese, and Colin to a club for lunch. Friday is her day of the week—a chance to sing her heart out, enjoy a good meal, and share laughter with people who feel like family.

Her week is always full: shopping on Mondays, exercise on Tuesdays, dancing on Wednesdays, coffee catch-ups on Thursdays, and her social Fridays at Breakthru. With the help of her carer and the support of her sister Bella makes every day count.

But Bella’s journey hasn’t been easy. Bella can't remember being hit by a car as she was crossing a pedestrian crossing nearly 20 years ago. The accident also left her frightened to walk on her own, and ever since, her walking frame has been her security and strength. “It keeps me safe,” she says softly. “It helps me feel brave.”

Even though walking is difficult and exhausting, Bella doesn’t give up. She pushes through—to go bowling, to visit the markets, to take part in her local council social group, and to live a life that’s full of connection and joy.

Bella also has someone very special in her life—her boyfriend, whom she met at the Royal Easter Show last year. “He’s really good,” she says with a shy smile.

Bella can cook, shower, and care for herself, but what truly defines her is her spirit. Every single day, she chooses courage over fear, laughter over loneliness, and community over isolation.

Bella’s story is a reminder that with the right support—a helping hand, a carer’s patience, a community’s compassion—people can keep moving forward, no matter what life throws their way.

Make this Christmas one to remember.

At Breakthru, we support people with disability, injury or illness, who are often doing it tough financially.

Throughout the year, we provide tailored disability support, disability employment services, and family mental health support services to these clients, recognising everyone's unique needs and preferences.

But at Christmas, we rely on the generosity of our community to provide the little extras that make this season feel special.

From Christmas cards, gift vouchers and festive events—your donation brings joy, hope and belonging to these clients who might otherwise go without.
